Day 1 - London - Stonehenge - Glastonbury
1-1

Just got the car in London.  "Nancy, your driving on the wrong side of the road!  And put the steering wheel back on the left side!"
1-2

On the lookout for neat stuff to take pictures of.
1-3

I think I got my Jesus Brake on.
1-4

Brittany and Danielle
(The funny faces begin in earnest)
1-5

This isn't Florida anymore, bundle up.
Stonehenge parking lot.

Stonehenge
1-11

Listening to audioguide.   There were a bunch of places with audioguides.
Dad started doing his Hawaiian hand gesture.
Too bad it didn't make it warmer.
1-12

Stonehenge.
Yes, I was camera happy.  Wanted the right angle, light.  Didn't want to miss any detail.
1-13

Stonehenge.
1-14

Around we go.
1-15

This ditch was dug the hard way.
1-16

I'm level again.
1-17

Brrrrr.  I didn't have any gloves yet.
1-18

One step at a time.
1-19

Panaramic?
1-20

Glastonbury.  We're walking down this path behind the church.
1-21

Glastonbury. Church.
1-22

Glastonbury. Church.
When I took this pic:  There were a couple children walking past that seemed quite amused that someone would take a picture of their local church.  It seems special to me, but so common to them.

Day 2 - Glastonbury
More information about Glastonbury, Isle of Avalon, Tor, Lady Chapel, and Chalice Well :
Timescapes: Glastonbury
(very cool).
2-23

Big Pat.  Ain't he organized?
Staying at Dragonfly Bed & Breakfast.
2-24

Everyone look to your right to see if cars are coming.  Even learning to jaywalk in england takes some practice.
2-25

Pat.  Happy, got his hat on.  At the entrance to Glastonbury Abbey.
2-26

Stepping back in time.  I feel a history lesson coming on.  Entrance to Glastonbury Abbey.
2-27

Lady Chapel
2-28

Common entrance arch to the main church of the monastery (in ruins).
2-29

I am still in awe of this entrance.  Use of the imagination is required.
2-30

The only building with a roof left.  The kitchen.
2-31

Glastonbury Abbey
2-32

Glastonbury Abbey
2-35

A different high gothic cathedral viewed from the grounds of the monastery.
Learn about gothic architecture:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gothic_architecture
2-36

Walking (yes, Americans must learn to walk) to the Chalice Well Gardens.
2-37

Everthing just looks so different.
2-38

Camera started acting up as soon as we entered the Chalice Well Gardens.  I thought it was my batteries.  But I think the high ferrous metal content in the air here screwed something up.  Very magnetic place.
2-39

Pat 1 at the Chalice Well.  See the symbols on the cover?  Neat.
2-109

Same design on the top.  Had to sit upstream just to get camera to work again.
2-110

testing 1,2,3
2-111

A little meditative place near the well.

Camera quit again.  It never wanted to save the images from here on out, unless I don't use the flash.  Weird.  The next 8 pics are from the Tor looking down.  None of the pics I took with my camera looking up the hill survived.  Weird.
2-112

2-113

2-114
Nancy climbing the Tor.  It's a steep climb.  It's suppossed to be like a 700 foot climb.  I think it's higher.  The view is great.
2-115
Down but not up,  and the pictures were stored in the wrong order.  Very weird.
2-116
Glastonbury
2-117
Pals.  Helping each other up the hill.
2-118
I was sitting down leaning on the Tor.  Those last steps and the icey wind were murder!
2-119
The town looks kewl from up here.

Now for something completely different...

3-120

A serious morning in Bath.  Way too many people...they are everywhere.
3-121

This is a cathedral next to the Roman Bath House entrance.
If you look close you can see anti-war demonstrators in front of the door holding signs.  My thoughts ... Americans in general do not seem outspoken enough.
3-122

better view of Roman Bath entrance.  Notice the line... very very popular and important historical place...IMO (in my opinion).
3-123

closer to the window
3-124

The crests here fascinated me.
3-125

This crest I saw everywhere.  Definetely royalty.  And is that a dragon or a griffon?  I only saw a couple dragons, I would see one later at a Palace.
3-126

Very old masonry, piping, and hot hot water in the Roman Bath in (of course) Bath.
3-127

Yes, forgot her name, but a godess driving (see the whip) the sun across the heavens.
3-128

Hot water spring.  Definetely a focal point for ancient society.
3-129

Stratford Upon Avon.  Old old church.  Couldn't find the name.
3-130

In the other direction is big Pat minding the car.
3-131

more stained glass windows
3-132

Looks like a football huddle.
3-133

No Nancy, I haven't caught on to the play yet.
3-134

Refer to 3-129.  Lots of old tombstones.
3-135

Arriving in Warwick.  We went into the church up the hill.  I was very impressed.
3-136
I is happy.
3-137

3-138
Checking out the television.  English TV has good commercials and bad programming.
